Message from the President
As new member fast tracked into office and fortunate to be your Club President it is my duty to ask the members of Central Mactan to be prepared to make this year an enjoyable productive year.
It is only with the support of the members that we succeed in that task. I will introduce fun ways for our club to sustain and increase membership and work closely with the District assistant Governor to plan our guide for an effective rotary club both for our short and long term goals in implementing successful projects that address the needs of our communities.
As you all know I took office a little early. In just a short time I became the recipient of The Most Outstanding President Award and for the club with rose above our issues of the early departure of our Past President due to personal circumstances. Our club received The Most Outstanding Water Project Award and the Most Outstanding Service Community Project Award on a Zone level and then we received the Most Outstanding Water and Sanitation Award in the Visayas, which we owe the PP Damien Dwyer a round of applause for his dedication to making it all possible. I never thought I would say this but I have a tuff act to follow.
I am more than inspired to accept the responsibility of an effective President and promise to do the best that I can, with of course the presence, assistance and guidance of our Past Presidents.
This year was brief and fruitful. Brief, in the sense that many of the activities were hampered by the midterm shift in Presidents but fruitful because there were many “firsts” for the club this year.
- Most Outstanding Water & Sanitation Project on a Visayas Level
- Most Outstanding President
- Most Outstanding Secretary
- New Readings added in our weekly Meetings
- First Club to have our Project headlined in this year’s First addition on the GML newsletter.
- First International Sistership – Rotary Club of Capital City Sunrise Club # 6647, District 7870
And few recreations of what our Charter President instilled back in 2003

None of the events would have been possible without the enthusiasm and help from the members of our Rotary Club. Every one of us have contributed differently but equally to the success of this year. Without fervent or fervor, together with your spouses and friends who made their own contributions without asking for anything in return. The pride and joy for this Rotary Years is yours alone but we will keep the memories for ourselves.
I wish to thank all of you for your dedication and ask for your dedication once again to assist the new incoming officers another fruitful year.
I mentioned the Four P’s in our Newsletters and I plan to build on them this Rotary Year. Programs, Projects, Partnerships, and Participation.
Programs - meetings that are so informative and entertaining that members and guests will never be absent Projects - activities and events away from meetings that will engage and excite members to get involved. Partnerships - seeking out those strategic alliances that benefit both our club and those in our community, particularly in fund-raising. Participation - Every member of our club will make a difference this year!
Many of you may wonder what projects are in our future:
